Nacho yoga’s mission is to teach and inspire yoga into everyone’s life. To serve the busy working professional, the uninspired go-getter, the not-so-flexible yoga is not for me gentleman, the injured athlete, the retired athlete, etc to explore mindful movements and to shape your nacho yoga into a feeling and look that is unique to your body. My yoga is nacho yoga!
My yoga journey started with bikram hot yoga, and did it as a quick fix for my wedding when I gained weight leading up to my big day. I was a runner who suffered from IT band syndrome and was led to believe that physical therapy was the only way to recover from it. I was eager to find a non-traditional hot yoga studio close to home and found one that incorporated the same exercises I was instructed to do weekly in PT. Naturally, I decided a group setting was more inviting and less alienating than PT. So I signed up and started a routine hot yoga practice. Fast forward 5 years later, I had taken a boat load of classes and had separated from my husband. The only thing I knew was that yoga made me happy when my life had turned upside down and changed.
I decided to pursue power yoga teacher training as a way to deepen my practice and love for yoga and as a means to grow when I had become stagnant and stuck in my ways. I enrolled in my 200 hour training through Corepower yoga, met a bunch of new people that I now call friends and love teaching when I didn’t originally think teaching was in my future. Boy was that resistance real, and am so glad I trusted my teaching journey and all my teachers and supporters along the way. Teacher training and learning to teach yoga was the best thing I have done, no really! Now I am blessed that I am able to share my love for yoga and what makes yoga so special to you, so that you can love it too!
